Serger, Serger! Fundamentals and Creative Flourishes Licensing Event

You are invited to join us for our Serger, Serger! Online Licensing. With over 24 projects to download and videos to support the project instructions, you can hone your serger talents and teaching skills – all in the comfort of your own home. The projects range from garments for babies, children, and ladies, to clever totes, quilted projects, and home decorating items. A cover stitch serger is not necessary to complete the required projects and techniques. If you have a cover stitch serger, there are projects using cover and chain stitch, with alternative methods for students who own sergers without that feature. In all cases, this course will prepare you to give instruction on how to thread, identify parts and settings used for general serging methods, master tips and tricks for specialty serging techniques and use additional serger feet. In addition, your online serger licensing will include a tried-and-true curriculum of over two dozen fabulous serger projects to make, sell or teach.

Originally offered as our Serger II in-person licensing event, the online version of this course is now open for new enrollments for the first time since 2016. The class is taught by educators Kathy McMakin, Alicia Welcher, Connie Palmer, and Peggy Dilbone. Students in this online course will receive step-by-step video tutorials and downloadable instructions/patterns for all 24+ projects, plus dozens of technique videos, machine embroidery designs that you can use on your licensing projects if desired (the embroidery is not required), business tips, and more.

Here's how it works: During this course, there will be nine required assignments (four technique samples and five projects) that you will need to make and submit photos of through the site. Those assignments will be graded by our instructors, and upon course completion, you’ll receive your teacher's license. Once you have your license, you’ll co-own the copyright for all the written instructions/patterns for the projects included in this licensing. That means you’ll be able to copy the exclusive licensed materials to share with your students if you choose to teach, make the projects for sale without limit or just sew them for your own enjoyment. (No, you do not have to want to teach to take a licensing class!) No matter what your reason is for joining us, this course is sure to take your sewing skills to new heights. After the course is over, you will still have access to all the videos and resources on the site – that access will not expire! 

Please note: For those of you who have already joined us online for our first Serger Licensing (Serger I), no worries! Serger, Serger! (Serger II) features an entirely different group of projects with lots of unique techniques. It is totally worth taking, as it will enhance and expand your serger-expertise and project collection. If you have not taken the previous Serger I Licensing online, again no worries! You do not need to take any licensing curriculum before any other – there is no pre-requisite of any type, as they are totally “stand-alone” courses, complete with all the basics, essentials, and advanced techniques you need or can imagine.

The projects in every licensing collection are unique to that particular licensing, so no one else will have your projects other than the students who are licensed in the same curriculum.
